Buffalo Wings originate from Buffalo, NY…there are many stories of who made the first hot chicken wings, however the most widely told story is that they were created at the Anchor Bar in 1964 in downtown Buffalo. Regardless of who made the first recipe, Buffalo wings are the best only in Buffalo! Try these anywhere else and you will likely find puny, wings with just cayenne sauce doused on them.

It is easy to make these delicious wings at home that are authentic Buffalonian! All you need is the right recipe and cooking equipment. Baking wings in the oven can cause them to shrink significantly and it is easy to have the skin stick to the baking pan. Losing the skin will result in losing the crispy goodness that makes a wing a wing.

Using an air fryer is an easy way to make wings any night of the week! They crisp up nicely and are a healthier option to frying. When choosing an air fryer, choose one that has a rotating basket. This option is perfect for frying up chicken wings!

Buffalo Wings

Blue Cheese!

It is requisite in Buffalo to dip your wings in blue cheese! Ranch is not permitted! Even if you think you do not like Blue Cheese dressing, you must try it on your wings. One time and you will be converted. The creaminess of the dressing and the sharp flavor of the blue cheese balances out the spicy flavor of the wing sauce perfectly. Be daring, go with the blue cheese dressing! Ranch is too safe!!
