Oatmeal raisin cookies are classic. But the influx of apples into my home this year with our multiple apple picking outings leaves me searching for new recipes to be able to incorporate some yummy apples! We recently picked some granny smith apples…and cookies are my thing. So Apple Oatmeal Cookies are the outcome!
Traditional oatmeal raisin cookie base is perfect for the addition of apples! Cinnamon, oatmeal, and tart apples were made for each other!
Nutmeg and honey compliment the other ingredients perfectly and make these cookies perfectly crisp on the edges and oh so chewy in the middle.
Chilling the cookie batter for 30 to 60 minutes helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much when baking. I love a chunky, thick oatmeal cookie…no thin, too crispy cookies will do. Don’t skip this step!
Chunky and thick, this cookie batter is chocked full of goodness!
Maple Cinnamon Glaze
Maple and cinnamon combine perfectly to top off these cookies with a sweet, spiced glaze. My kids devour these, packed with oats & apples, I can feel confident that it is a perfect sweet treat!
This batter is sticky, thick with brown sugar and honey. You will not regret the use of a silicone baking mat! I converted from parchment paper and I will never go back. No more wrestling with paper and the money savings are worth it, if you bake a lot of cookies!
If you are a lover of oatmeal raisin cookies, these Apple Oatmeal Cookies will be your go to fall alternative. Spiced to taste like autumn. Not gonna lie. I ate three of these cookies the first day. They are dangerously good!
