Making Warm Memories
Childhood memories often involve food. When I look back on the warm memories of my childhood, I think of making sugar cookies, sweet treats on Christmas morning, and big Sunday morning breakfasts. Life can be so busied during the week and focus is frequently to keep on top the necessities of school, work and extracurricular activities. As a result, I love to slow life down on the weekends and make special breakfasts for my kids. This allows for the opportunity to slow down and really “see” and hear my kids through time spent slowing down.
Using a waffle mix, Hot Cocoa Waffles are incredibly easy to make for quick preparation to get your day started. I really love this waffle mix! It makes the best fluffy waffles! It is at a little at the higher end price wise for a mix but well worth it for the flavor.

A quality waffle maker is essential for making good waffles…crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Getting a double waffle iron lets you speed through making these yummy waffles easily!
Toppings are part of the magic. Think a warm, rich hot chocolate….I top with mini chocolate chips while still warm so they get a little gooey on the waffles. Add a little chocolate syrup drizzle, a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a generous helping of whipped cream! Just like a cup of hot cocoa you eat with a fork!
Try some Marshmallow Bits for an extra treat!!
Make a double batch, freeze half to save for another day. They toast up easily in a toaster oven!
Make warm memories with your family, taking the time to sit down and truly see them through conversation over a plate of warm, chocolaty plate of hot cocoa waffles!
Live fully, eat well!
